Measurables: Position- Stretch 5, Height- 6'11, Weight- 240lbs Strengths: Quietly one of the best stretch big men in all of college basketball... Shooting 45% from 3 on a high volume... The mechanics are legit with a fluid and high release despite Onu having some of the biggest hands of any none professional player in the world... Pretty good changing ends but incredible lateral movement is what sets him apart... Capable of switching and guarding in space against athletes... Lob threat with soft hands and uncanny coordination for an NAIA big... Knows how to use his length and protect the rim with 4 blocks a game... Big men rarely exist with the combination of length, mobility, and shooting touch that Onu has and his potential at the next level is immense. Weaknesses: Did not start playing basketball until he was 14 and seems raw at times... A little mechanical at times... Inconsistent rebounding and needs to be better reacting to the ball immediately off the rim... Thin frame with a high center of gravity... No real post game on offense at this point. Projected Level: The sky is absolute the limit for Onu but the development situation he ends up in is going to be everything for how much success he ends up having... The projected level Onu ends up at doesn't really matter but the early coaching he receives as a pro does... With that said he should make a compelling case for a G-League looking to develop a modern big man. Overview: An ultra talented big man with rare shooting touch and elite physical tools... There may not ever be a player like him coming from an NAIA background again.
